Another fruitful Ramadan (month of fasting, prayer and reflection) has left. I cannot convey my experience in words, but a few: Love and Reflection.
I hope your Ramadan was renewing and fruitful.
Going to get back to work and hope to catch up on some belated wishes. :)
Lots of love, love, and hugs,
Farida
Hello Lovelees:
Well, I am gearing up for a new stage in my life. I have been experiencing a heart opening shift the last 14 months. It has not been without its exuberant highs and equally contemplative lows. Let’s not forget merry midway sign posts that keep me on my path. At the end of the day I am happy for all the experiences that have caught me off guard that inevitably led to me a deeper understanding of myself, the life experience, and overall to fit everything under an umbrella of faith. It has been an humbling unfolding of events that undoubtedly left beautiful carvings in my heart and has given way to a new space and place on my own timeline.
I hope to share beyond the vague details in months to come. In the meantime thank you.
Oh, for fun if you love coffee, tv or film…check out my other tumblr: COFFEETVFILM
Lots of Love,
Farida
Good Evening fellow Tumblrs,
I am no stranger to curating content. I wanted to tell you all about my other tumblrs. Although I adopted a no need to explain motto earlier this year, I will go on to explain that apart from my day-to-day pitching, writing, and raising awareness and capital, I tumble quite frequently.
Why?
Mostly for my own need to archive content for research and trend purposes and because of the shared content value. I try to upload information I come across my data base of industry blogs and websites. I also reblog content regularly.
So, if you are so kind and keen on:
Earth, the living planet, animals, nature, sustainability, nutrition, neuroscience, space, healthy eating, humanity please visit: DIGITAL OCEAN
If you are a creative, ambitious Angeleno, love coffee, into TV programming, Film, documentary film, Hollywood, please visit and follow: COFFEETVFILM
I use DIGITAL BIN as my catch-all tumblr and mini blog posts. Hopefully in a few more months my permanent website will be live and I will be ready to share parts of my project. (excited to finally reveal what is up!)
Thanks again for the follows and mentions friends and fellow tumblrs,
Farida :)

With an extra day this 2012 why not spend 5 minutes today in introspection, reflection and meditation. Whether or not you are in the flow of life there are areas in everyone’s life that needs nurturing, sharpening or attention. I hope this prompt will awaken your spirits.
-Farida ( @adiraf )
PROMPT: WHAT IS THIS EXPERIENCE/CHALLENGE/CONFLICT TRYING TO TEACH ME ABOUT MY LIFE RIGHT NOW? WHAT DO I NEED TO LEARN? WHAT TO DO I NEED TO SEEK?
Tools:
Intuition: Use IT. It’s Instant. Take a deep breath INHALE and EXHALE and quiet your mind chatter and disregard the ego-mind. As with everything in life practice makes perfect. So don’t be overwhelmed if you have difficulty attaining stillness in your mind. We live in a cluttered culture with tons of noise. Your gut, your heart or if you will, your sense of knowing is always there. You just need to free the channels of communication to receive.
Inward: It is an Internal not external journey. Look at yourself today and your actions that contribute to your state of affairs. What choices lead you to your heart’s path and what take you away from it? Identify the areas that need tending.
Intent: Start with an open-heart at the place of Yes. Make a conscious intention to be open to resolving and learning from the current experience. With an open heart allow yourself to learn and seek.
Personal Note: It is often the harshest experiences in life that teach us the most about ourselves and others. We build up our resilience and we grow stronger with wisdom. I have met so many resilient and brilliant people who have endured the harshest human conditions and experiences and they are the most loving souls I have known. I had always wondered how can anyone who endured such pain be so grounded and time and time again the word “GRATEFUL” was mentioned. For some gratitude dismantled the bitterness of their experience and gave them the encouragement and fuel to further their purpose in life. They were not victims, but victorious.
1. Anyone on Google+? As you know my self-imposed fast from a popular social network is still going strong and loving it. Coworkers suggested that I should amp up other networks just to stay in the internet relevant loop. So I caved! I cannot promise I will be actively engaging on it but for what it is worth I am in a circle.
2. Along with my primary project that I have taken great lengths to keep under wraps till it is in fact finished and ready to be critiqued, I have been tending to a new web space. The last 3 years were spent acclimating to a new zip code and learning the code in the business and just had to put my blog on the back burner. I have been blogging in general for such a long time the break was important. I feel like I have aged, matured, and have new found insight and all together a new voice since then. So I have had this hankering to get back into sharing my thoughts in a more constructive consistent maybe creative manner instead of sneaking snippets of my thoughts into my tumblr page!
3. Downton Abbey vs. Mad Men: I am lost in Downton. It just hits all the right spots. Yes, I must admit the story line is predictable, but I just can’t help adore the style and the self-sacrificing romanticism. Downton season ended at just the right time for Mad Men to entice us with the seedy side of Madison Avenue. Seriously loving the retro nostalgia television.
4. Oh what else shall I share? Pay it forward. I have just started to smile more in general. I have started counting my blessings more consciously every evening in a written journal. Who said the art of handwriting is dead? Despite my prayers, I have enlisted a practice of meditation for the past 3 years that has really helped me get in the creative flow (which is great) but also brought me clarity in other areas in my life that are challenging. Now more than ever I realize that we are both students and teachers all at the same time. So we seek and share. We get inspired and we pay it forward. So I started to smile at strangers more. Acknowledge their presence more. Because you just don’t know if it was your smile that day that they needed to uplift their spirits.
So what are we grateful for tonight?
my eyesight, my hearing, my parents, electricity, internet…
plumbing, water supply, stocked grocery stores, transportation..freeway system
I know in this world at this time with all the war, unrest, humanity in crisis and global pain that it seems overwhelming to think that we can ever do anything to fix it. But I do believe that if we start looking inward become more conscious and open to understanding and we can spread peace by small acts of kindness that in some way as a collective we can lessen the pain. Incorporating small acts of selflessness and kindness in our daily lives is a start. Along with raising awareness and funds for humanitarian crisis and our living planet Earth we can hopefully lessen it. Eek now I am sounding preachy, getting late…but wanted to get that in tonight.
Keep Smiling,
Farida :)
